Ted Sink blends noir, psychological suspense, past-life memories, addiction, and karmic justice in a thriller spanning Soviet Russia and Florida.

NEW YORK CITY, NY, UNITED STATES, August 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Ted Sink crosses decades and continents in A Death in Dobrovny, a noir psychological thriller that links a killing in 1953 Soviet Russia to a chain of disturbing events unfolding 65 years later on Florida’s Space Coast.

At the center is Eddie Slaski, a Boston transplant and recovering alcoholic trying to rebuild his life through sobriety, a new career, and an unexpected relationship—until nightmares, coincidences, and violence suggest he has not escaped the darkness surrounding him.

As Eddie and his new love confront recurring nightmares that are eventually revealed as past-life memories tied to the same horrific event, their relationship deepens, and seemingly coincidental encounters draw them closer to a history neither consciously remembers. They become entangled in a present-day murder involving a missing NASA engineer's wife, stolen money, and powerful men who may have used Eddie’s investigative skills to help set up the murder. As the modern case develops, their relationship devolves into additional murders and alcohol-fueled chaos.

Rather than treating the past as something safely contained by time, A Death in Dobrovny imagines memory as a force capable of resurfacing in unexpected and destructive ways. Eddie’s attempt to create a different future is complicated by addiction and by experiences that challenge ordinary explanations of identity and fate, raising the question of whether sobriety, love, and reinvention are enough to outrun forces he does not recognize or understand.

For readers drawn to noir fiction, psychological thrillers, supernatural mysteries, and morally complicated characters, A Death in Dobrovny combines murder and suspense with questions about reincarnation, trauma, coincidence, and karmic justice.
